Martin Bishop A good day yesterday with 13 points profit on the day, but despite a good nice profit on the day it was very frustrating not to be more
We started the day with Rondeau, well backed from 9/2 into 7/2 favourite and sat back and came with a strong late challenge as expected. Had the best finish of all and looked like getting up, but couldnt quite find enough. Frustrating to get second as the race went to plan but just couldnt get in front in the closing stages.
Then we had R Woody who was readily available at 7/2 in the morning and went off a well fancied 2\1 favourite. Put in a massive race that went off at a lightening pace, looked to be getting out paced but then produced late on and came through to take the lead. Looked to have the race in the bag, but a late fast run from Clifton Bridge left us needing the line, and it was very frustrating to come out the wrong side of a photo.
Nothing to show from the first 2 races of the day was a big disappointment with 2 well backed selections and clearly the information from connections was spot on again.
Next up we had the NAP Petit Robin in the Grade 1 Victor Chandler Chase, and this race was all about the 2 runners with questions marks over the favourite. Unfortunately these were well answered by Twist Magic who put in a strong performance to leave us with our 3rd 2nd of the day.
Then we had Mamlook, our biggest priced selection of the day, readily available at 11/1 in the morning, and we went with a strong 2 point e\w bet. This time the information didnt let us down, and Mamlook put in a perfect race. Travelled easily throughout keeping in touch with the front runners and there is no better site than seeing everything else being ridden and our selection yet to be asked the question. Jumped over the last and one crack of the reigns saw us move a few lengths clear with ease and go on to take a comfortable victory. A great 2 point each way bet landed at a fantastic price.
Finally we had our Platinum Bet Prince De Beauchene, who was travelling well until a big mistake at the 12th effectively put an end to our challenge. Still managed to rally and get back on terms but essentially the chance was gone, and that was a frustrating end to the day.
So, although we were so close to at least 3 winners on the day, we had to settle with just over 13 points profit.
Weve got some more strong selections today, and look to increase our monthly total that now stands at just over 67 points profit for the month so far
