Thursday the 13/05/2010

We had a strong Platinum Bet yesterday and it was landed in some style. Don’t be fooled by the small margin of victory. Her run went about as badly as you could have imagined and not the best ride I’ve seen. However Aviate was a nice price on the off at 11/4 and she would have won by 5 lengths given a better passage. She was stuck behind runners on the rail and had no where to go. Only by luck did a small gap open and she literally barged her way through it proving she is a fighter and that she stayed the trip. She also made up ground in the last furlong like a real class horse. We told you 20/1 for the Oaks would be a big price after the race and she was instantly cut to 8/1 and is now 6/1 in places. Connections think she will go off favorite. I know some of you took the 20/1 and you will get a very big run for your money at the beginning of June.

Frustrating runs yesterday from Forte Dei Marmi and Summerinthecity. Both looking to be cruising at the furlong pole and it really did look like a matter of how far, but both got unbalanced and didn’t finish off their races. Very frustrating after travelling so well.

Cocktail Charlie was unlucky. Hit the front inside the distance and got nailed right on the line into second. He will win next time.

But we had a big winner with our biggest bet of the day and for some a great 20/1 runner in the Oaks.

We have 4 other strong selections today and we expect to be in the winners enclosure more than once today.
