Guaranteed Odds
Guaranteed Odds can be worth as much as 30% of your returns over time – and that is something you seriously need to take advantage of. Ignoring guaranteed odds is not a choice or an option, it is throwing money away for no reason – and that contradicts the whole point of placing a bet...
What are guaranteed odds?
Guaranteed Odds is when a bookmaker allows you to take the price when you place a bet early, but will pay you at Starting Price (SP) if the price drifts. It is the best of both worlds; all you have to do is get on early with the right bookmaker.
A typical example:
Mostly, the prices for our selections early in the day are much shorter when the race goes off. So it makes complete sense to get on as close to 11am as is possible for you ensuring you the best price most of the time.
However other times the price may drift, like on the 12th May 2009, when we tipped a 2/point each way bet on Billy Dane in the 3.30 at Beverley at 11am at 9/1.
We were expecting Billy Dane to go off nearer to 6/1, but surprisingly drifted out to a massive 14/1. Billy Dane went on to lead from start to finish – exactly according to plan.
Now, at our recommended stakes of 2/points each way, guaranteed odds meant we were on at 14/1 even though we took the early price at 9/1. The total profit at 9/1 was 21.6 points, but at 14/1 the total profit was 33.6 points.
Guaranteed odds on a single bet was worth an additional 12 points profit depending on whether or not you placed your bet with a bookmaker who simply guarantees the odds. 12 points profit equates to:
- £10\point - £120 extra profit
- £25\point - £300 extra profit
- £50\point - £600 extra profit
- £100\point - £1200 extra profit
Guaranteed odds are not an option – they are essential. It is simply a big error in judgement to ignore them.
How do I get guaranteed odds?
Guaranteed Odds are so important that we work extra hard every day to make sure our phone lines are updated by 11am when the early and best prices are available. 11am is just after the opening show (when prices start to appear on betting sites). All you have to do is place your bet with a bookmaker guaranteeing the odds.
