Kempton

Kempton Park racecourse made the transition from turf flat racing to all-weather racing venue in 2005 and paved the way for year round racing on a poly-track surface. This made Kempton one of the busiest racecourses in the country narrowly behind Wolverhampton. The 5 furlong inner course around Kempton features a significant draw bias with horses drawn high often getting trapped 3 wide going into a sharp right-hand turn – essentially they have no cover and further to travel and is a significant disadvantage. Kempton is also host to some high class National Hunt Racing with the feature race being the Grade 1 King George Chase that takes part on Boxing Day each year. Desert Orchid has a statue at Kempton Park after winning the race 4 times – only to be eclipsed by Kauto Star who went on to win it 5 times. With one of busiest fixture lists of any race course across both disciplines there are routine betting opportunities to be had.
