Nottingham racecourse has been in operation since the 18th century and currently features flat racing during the flat season – generally between March and October. There is not a great deal of high level racing with the highlights of Nottingham’s racing season being a pair of Listed races during April and May. The track has a 4 furlong straight run in that gives galloping horses with a big stride a chance to get well balanced and they often have an advantage of more compact agile types.
