Southwell

Southwell is a very unique left-handed race course that offers both All Weather (AWT) as well as National Hunt racing over the winter months. Southwell is one of 4 All Weather tracks in the UK (the others being Lingfield, Wolverhampton and Kempton), although the surface is fibresand and considered to be a very deep surface. This means horses generally require a soft-ground action with a lot of stamina and winning margins can be very pronounced as many horses tire whilst others handle the conditions with ease. This means that proven course form around Southwell is a big advantage and it pays to take note of horses with previous course form. Southwell also offers National Hunt racing during the National Hunt season.
