Wolverhampton

Wolverhampton Race Course is a left-handed 7 1/2 furlong oval with Polytrack surface. Wolverhampton Race Course was originally a jumps race course founded in the 1887 (although not originally at it’s current location of Dunstall Park, before becoming 1 of 4 dedicated UK all weather race courses (the others being Lingfield, Southwell and Kempton). Wolverhampton is the UK’s busiest race courses and on average stages approximately 90 fixtures a year, with the main stay being evening racing fixtures. The racecourse is a left-handed oval and is generally considered quite a sharp track with horses that generally race handy having an advantage (similar to most all-weather racecourses). Whilst racing focuses slightly more on quantity as opposed to quality, the 4 all-weather racecourses in the UK (the others being Lingfield, Kempton and Southwell) have made flat racing a year round event with it’s own ‘Winter Flat Season’.
