The Epsom Oaks is the fillies prelude to the Epsom Derby – both run round Epsom’s unique 1 mile 4 furlong Derby course that features sharp turns, undulations, a camber that unbalances horses around Tattenham corner and a stiff 1 furlong finish. Held early in June every year, the Oaks and Derby are the highlights of the Epsom – and the worlds – racing calendar.
