Racing has taken place at Newton Abbot since the 19th century – a race course that was born out of enthusiasm for horses, racing and jumping and it remains a race course loved by the enthusiast. Racing is not of the highest level with the highlight of the season being a Listed Chase – the Lord Mildmay Memorial Handicap Chase with prize money of approximately £20k – however with a lot of lower grade handicaps on offer throughout the year there are often lots of betting opportunities at Newton Abbot racecourse.
